The Colonial and Indian Exhibition of 1886 was a really substantial exhibition held in South Kensington in London, and meant (within the phrases of the then Prince of Wales) to stimulate commerce and strengthen the bonds of union now present in each portion of her Majestys Empire.[citation needed] The exhibition was opened by Queen Victoria, and when it closed had acquired H.H million guests.
It was housed in a set of objective-constructed buildings designed in an Indian type.[citation needed]
